A young, dynamic territory and a location that makes sense
With its 1.6 million inhabitants , Seine-Saint-Denis is one of the most densely populated departments in France. But beyond the figures, it is a young, vibrant territory, in constant evolution. Close toOne inhabitant out of three is under 25 : at DUO for a JOB, we support precisely this young person who is full of desire and projects, but who are often confronted with significant obstacles.
A third of the inhabitants are immigrants (source: INSEE), and despite the human and cultural wealth of the territory, the unemployment rate remains high: 10.2% at the end of 2024, against 7.2% on the national average . A gap that highlights the urgent need to act for more equal opportunities. This is precisely where DUO for a JOB acts: supporting young people with an immigration background is the heart of our mission .
Seine-Saint-Denis is also a booming economic fabric, where many businesses choose to set up. And if you look more closely, you will find a strong civic commitment, with one inhabitant out of five involved as a volunteer. It is therefore an ideal territory to make our program known to people over 50 and offer them the opportunity to engage as volunteer mentors, alongside us.
It is at the crossroads of these three realities that the DUO for a JOB program makes perfect sense: by offering young people from immigration or refugees to benefit from the benevolent support of mentors over 50 years of age, we provide a concrete and human response to these challenges. A decisive boost to facilitate professional integration... and to rebuild relationships in a region where so many backgrounds, origins and life stories coexist.
Participation in the Youth Employment Week in Le Bourget on June 5, 2025
Our local impact Since 2022, the year we launched our actions in the department , we have gradually strengthened our presence by participating in particular in key events in the region. For example, when we are present at Job dating from Pierrefitte-sur-Seine or to Employment Olympiad de Stains is because these moments allow you to meet young people where they are, in their daily job search , but also to exchange with other local employment actors.
This presence allows us to tie Of strong partnerships with structures established in the territory such as the Agence France Travail in Saint-Denis, associations such as APCIS in Stains or Take Your Shot in Drancy, as well as several local missions. These locally anchored structures allow us toidentify young people who need support the most and to create one territorial network effective in maximizing our impact.
In recent years, we have been increasing the number of hotlines to be ever closer to our audience. After monthly appointments at the Youth Center in 2023 , then weeklies on the premises of LP4Y in Saint-Ouen in 2024 , we are taking a new step: As of September 2025, a visit will take place every week at the Saint-Denis Labour Exchange .
These hotlines offer direct and simplified access to our program. Young people can come and ask questions and discover what DUO for a JOB can do for them , without having to travel to our Paris offices.
For young people who are already accompanied, these meeting points also facilitate the organization of weekly meetings with their mentor , in an accessible, regular and reassuring environment.
Thanks to this deployment, the impact is tangible: since 2019, we have supported 1,200 young people in Île-de-France, including 330 Sequano-Dyonisians , or nearly a third of our beneficiaries. This department thus represents our second strongest support pool, just behind Paris.
Laureates' Evening Call for Action IN Seine-Saint-Denis on June 11, 2025 And tomorrow? Our will is clear: continue to act for youth in Seine-Saint-Denis and strengthen our presence there. We want to set up a new weekly permanence in the autumn of 2025, and also to work hand in hand with ALI (Local Integration Agencies).
This collaboration will allow us to make our offices more regular and to be more present in the field. The objective is twofold: on the one hand, facilitate access to our program for young people followed by these structures specialized in professional integration, and on the other hand, create complementarity between the technical support of the ALIs and the support provided by our mentors. This synergy will allow for support more global and personalized young people into employment.
Beyond employment support, DUO for a JOB is convinced that mentoring is a lever to promote living together and strengthen social cohesion in a territory marked by its diversity. By creating connections between generations, origins and different backgrounds, our program contributes to building a better society. inclusive, supportive and open .
In a department like Seine-Saint-Denis, where numerous communities coexist and where Inequalities can sometimes create fractures , intergenerational mentoring is becoming a real tool for social cohesion. It allows overcoming prejudices , of create a link , and of valorize the richness of diversity that characterizes this unique territory.
