The ability to bounce back from failure, the boldness to propose a new idea, the courage to start over… These lessons are often learned through experience, encounters, and life’s moments. Above all, they are passed on. This is the message behind the new national campaign from DUO for a JOB: "It’s passed on," launched in the fall of 2026.
Building bridges between generations
Since its inception, DUO for a JOB has held a simple belief: experience is a wealth that deserves to be shared.
Through mentoring, young people searching for jobs, internships, work-study programs, or training are supported by mentors over the age of 50. Beyond professional advice, these encounters spark a genuine intergenerational exchange, where everyone learns from one another. In a climate where ties between generations and cultures can sometimes fray, DUO for a JOB works to create spaces for meeting, dialogue, and transmission.
Mentors do more than just share their network or professional experience. They also pass on valuable knowledge forged through their own journeys: how to bounce back from failure, regain confidence, dare to change paths, or persevere in the face of adversity.
Why this campaign?
In a tense social climate, where divisions between generations, neighborhoods, and cultures tend to make people withdraw into themselves, we are choosing a program that brings people together and fosters social cohesion.
This campaign is also an opportunity to highlight a truth that is often forgotten: people over 50 have a tremendous amount to pass on. Through mentoring, their experience becomes a powerful catalyst for guiding young people toward employment, as well as toward greater confidence, independence, and ambition.
Support can change a trajectory. By helping a young person regain confidence, find their path, or cross a decisive milestone, mentoring has a lasting impact on the lives of both the mentee and the senior volunteer.
With "It’s passed on", we want to highlight everything that isn't found on a resume or a diploma, but that makes all the difference: experience, confidence, listening, and above all, transmission and exchange.
It’s contagious
Through three impactful visuals, the campaign highlights skills forged by experience:
💪 the strength to get back up after a failure
👩🎤 the boldness to propose a new idea
🏃♂️➡️the courage to start over.
By playing on the contrast between certifiable skills and those acquired only through experience, the campaign invites everyone to recognize the value of what they can pass on to others. This is the very essence of mentoring at DUO for a JOB.
