💡 DUO for a JOB, in a nutshell...
DUO for a JOB is an association created in 2013 in Brussels and active in Paris since 2019. DUO offers an intergenerational mentoring program by connecting young people from immigrant backgrounds with volunteer mentors over the age of 50.
Our goal? To promote equal opportunities in the job market for young people from immigrant backgrounds while valuing the experience of our elders and contributing to a fairer and more inclusive society. Once paired up, the young person and their mentor meet for two hours a week for six months. The DUO for a JOB team trains the mentors beforehand and supports the duos throughout the mentoring period.
Some figures about DUO for a JOB:
- More than 10,000 pairs created
- Three out of four young people find a job, internship, or training program
- Eight out of ten mentors re-enlist after their first mentoring experience
- 18 branches in France (Paris, Lille, Marseille, Lyon), Belgium, and the Netherlands
