💡 DUO for a JOB, in a nutshell...
Founded in Brussels in 2013, DUO for a JOB has been active in France since 2019 — in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, and Lille. DUO runs an intergenerational and intercultural mentoring program that connects young job seekers with an immigrant background to volunteer mentors aged 50 and over.
Our mission? To promote equal opportunities on the job market for young people with immigrant backgrounds, to value the experience of people over 50, and to build a fairer, more inclusive society.
A few key figures:
- Over 10,000 duos created
- 18 offices across 3 countries, including 4 in France (Lille, Paris, Marseille & Lyon)
- 100+ collaborators
🎯 Your missions
As a Mentoring Program Officer (MPO), you ensure the smooth running of the mentoring program. This involves informing and meeting with participants (mentors and mentees), helping to train mentors, and finally creating, supporting, and evaluating the duos.
This is a hands-on role, involving direct interaction with participants (mentors and mentees) and the team (a Director, Deputy Director, eight other Mentoring Program Officers, one civic service volunteer, and one apprentice), as well as coordination work with partner organizations. You will also be responsible for operational follow-up.
Your Main Responsibilities
🤝 Creation and Supervision of Duos
- Organize and facilitate group information sessions to recruit program participants (mentors and mentees)
- Conduct individual interviews with mentors and mentees
- Match mentors and mentees together based on defined criteria, in collaboration with the team
- Support and monitor duos throughout their 6-month journey—from their first meeting to the final evaluation—by answering questions, resolving issues, offering guidance, and providing relevant information and resources
- Ensure the administrative follow-up of the duos’ journeys via our CRM
🎓 Training & Events
- Actively contribute to organizing and facilitating mentor training sessions
- Take part in intervision (peer exchange) sessions and other events bringing together program participants
📣 Outreach & Recruitment
- Identify the best outreach channels to inform target audiences about the program
- Represent DUO at various events (fairs, forums, external information sessions, steering committees, etc.)
- Facilitate external information sessions (with partners, across the Ile-de-France region) to recruit mentors and mentees
This list is not exhaustive; your responsibilities may evolve depending on your interests and DUO’s organizational needs.
😀 Your profile
- Genuine motivation to engage in an intergenerational mentoring project
- Good knowledge of the associative and institutional landscape and employment integration schemes in Ile-de-France
- Flexible, dynamic, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience
- Excellent command of French and very good knowledge of English (knowledge of other languages such as Arabic, Pashto, Lingala, Swahili, Peul, etc., is an asset)
- Proficiency in office and digital tools (Google Suite, Notion, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Higher education degree (minimum Bachelor’s level)
- You embody DUO’s motto: warm professionalism
We believe our team’s strength lies in the diversity of its members — so don’t hesitate to apply!
💡 Conditions
- Full-time permanent contract (CDI), “cadre” status
- Salary: based on experience
- Benefits: meal vouchers (€8.50 face value), health insurance (ALAN), 50% reimbursement of public transport costs, laptop and smartphone provided
- Our organizational culture ensures opportunities for personal and professional development and encourages a sense of responsibility. We work with each employee on their personal development plan.
